Special Events

Hiking 101 (Workshop & Hike)

January 30, 2022 10am (4-6 hours)

Learn the basics of hiking throughout the seasons from what to pack to how to plan your first day hike. This event includes a workshop and a guided hike.

Our route will be customized to registered participants, so it is TBD. We will meet in Madison County Alabama.

Co-ed event, open to 16 + (minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian)

COST: $35/person


Mindfulness Hike

February 13, 2022 1pm (about 3 hours)

Join us for awareness building as we hike, then a seated meditation guided by Emily. Along your journey your guide will share the benefits of mindfulness, and tips for making time for your own mind, body and spirit in the beauty of the outdoors. Benches are available, but sit pads are recommended. A full packing list and meeting details will be provided after registration.

Hiking Info: Wade Mountain Nature Preserve, 2.5-3.5 miles depending on group’s interest and pace

***Co-ed event, open to 12 + (minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).***

COST: $35/person


Women Outdoors

Waterfall Hike

February 6, 2022 1pm (about 3 hours)

We will visit a beautiful waterfall in a unique karst landscape. Learn about the environmental and culture importance of caves and discover a “disappearing” waterfall. Location and meeting details provided after registration.

Hiking information: distance about 2 miles, elevation gain about 410 feet.

***Women 16 + welcome on this hike, so feel free to bring a young woman you wish to share your love of nature with for this adventure.***

COST: $25/person


Wander Tots

Spring is Coming

February 18, 2022

Temperatures may still be chilly, but spring is coming soon! Let’s search for early signs of spring and learn about seasons. Additional details and our meeting location will be provided closer to our event, but as always we will be at a natural setting within Madison County.

COST: $15/household

Sessions are designed for children 3 and under, but older siblings are welcome.
