Wander Tots

Fall Discovery Wander

October 29, 2021

We’ll continue to explore the wonders of fall, chase leaves, and find ways to take treasures home from nature without doing harm. Additional details and our meeting location will be provided after registration, but as always we will be at a natural setting within Madison County.

COST: $15/household

Sessions are designed for children 3 and under, but older siblings are welcome.

Learn to Layer Wander

November 19, 2021

Children will explore the layers of the forest, while adults discuss the importance of layering clothing for safety and comfort. Additional details and our meeting location will be provided after registration, but as always we will be at a natural setting within Madison County.

Women Outdoors

Discover Rock Climbing

November 21, 2021

Learn the basics of rock climbing from two experienced female guides. This empowering adventure will allow participants to experience climbing on natural rock, gain valuable insights from our contracted mountaineering guide, and enjoy community and support from Women Outdoors.

COST: $68/person, climbing gear and hands on skills training included

Special Events & Services

Walls of Jericho Day Hike

November 6, 2021 9am (about 6 hours)

Butterfly Outdoors is teaming up with Alpha Expeditions for a fall trip to the Walls of Jericho. This hike is strenuous, but well worth the journey. Your guides will share information about the ecology and geology of the area, and we’ll all seek to enjoy fall foliage and community.

***This hike is co-ed with a minimum age of 16 years. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.***

COST: $35/person

Outdoor Skills Training

Want to guide hikes, paddling trips, or teach others outdoor skills? We can help train you to lead Women Outdoors activities in your area, better prepare you for leading your family outdoors, or help you take the first step toward a career outdoors.

This will be a multi-part course beginning next month Dates and details coming soon!

COST: $25-55/session (additional fees may apply for paddling and first aid sessions)

Private Backpacking Trips

Private and semi-private backpacking workshops and trips. Learn the basics of backpacking through hands on experience and guided excursions with other women. Packages including gear, meals, and custom training are available. These trips are for beginners and experienced backpackers looking to adventure safely and enjoy community outdoors.

Young Naturalists

After School Explorers

Enjoy outdoor play and nature-based learning during this after school series. These sessions will begin meeting later this fall.
