Workshops & Seminars

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.

Ever wanted to take your family camping, learn how to start a fire, build a primitive shelter, or identify trees?

We teach a wide range of wilderness skills and nature programs for adults and families. Whether you need to prepare for a family camping trip, get ready for your first backpacking or kayaking adventure, or want to set your team up for success in the workplace we have a workshop or seminar to match your needs.

Skills Workshops

Our workshops provide in-depth experiential educational opportunities. We provide demonstrations, and offer hands-on practice where students can learn valuable outdoors skills, get started in a new hobby such as family camping or backpacking, and work together in team building experiences perfect for businesses or groups.

Popular sessions: Wilderness/Survival Skills, Beginner Backpacking, Family Camping, and Paddling Basics. (Custom sessions available.)

Seminars are the perfect introduction into a new subject or hobby. These sessions make a convenient ”lunch and learn“ style program for groups, a quick overview of an activity for families, or a sample of a more in-depth workshop on one of the topics above.

Available topics: Alabama’s Biodiversity, Wildlife & Trail Safety, Snakes of Alabama, The Bald Eagle in Alabama, Leave No Trace, Birding Basics, Beginner Tree ID, and Intro to Hiking. (Custom programs also available.)
