“I created Butterfly Outdoors to share my passion for nature with others. I want to teach people the names of trees and how to start a fire without matches, but I mainly want to make sure everyone finds the tools they need to get outdoors. The woods can be intimidating, and I’d like to offer my students a chance to step outside their comfort zones without feeling alone. Once they reach that place most realize the woods (or nature in general) is where we most belong, and it transforms from a place we are unsure of to a place we need. I invite you to join me in this journey, and find your place outdoors.”— Kate Gribbin, Founder and Lead Naturalist
We believe EVERYONE deserves a place outdoors, and when individuals and families are able to connect with nature they are happier, healthier, and more productive. At Butterfly Outdoors we hope to shape a future where natural spaces are welcoming places to EXPLORE~LEARN~PLAY for individuals and groups of all backgrounds and experiences. Until all people are comfortable and well represented outdoors our parks, wild lands, and wildlife habitats will be at greater risk. By making the outdoors accessible to all we ensure both the conservation and preservation of these natural spaces for generations to come. We hope you will connect with us, and more importantly we hope you connect with nature.
Ways to connect
Life is better with connections. In nature everything is interconnected from the food chain to the life cycle of a plant. In the modern world we are connected through our devices and social media. Ultimately, we want to connect with you in-person to EXPLORE~LEARN~PLAY outdoors, but we’d love to connect with you virtually as well.
